Beware of non compliant testing
Many dodgy operators have sprung up who simply put a label or a tag on equipment without carrying out any tests whatsoever.
This is a far more dangerous situation as faulty equipment has been tagged as safe to use.
Testers supplying false Electrician and REC numbers.
Labourers, school leavers, students, backpackers & travellers are used to carry out Tests on a per quota basis some who have not done any training whatsoever and allegedly working under the supervision of a competent person.
These are practices that I have encountered working in the industry.
Today there are many forms of testing equipment that will give you a print out of the Tests carried out.
Although it is difficult to compete with these operators on a cost basis SEC will match or better any Quotation given for Compliance Testing.
